On September 23, 2024, during the International Staff Week, Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg (TU BAF) hosted a presentation of the EdAccession project. This initiative aims to strengthen cooperation between Ukrainian and Moldovan universities and their European counterparts. The event featured a presentation by the project coordinator, Dr. Olena Churikanova, and was attended by 42 representatives from Ukrainian universities, including faculty members and administrators. This turnout highlights the project's significance and broad appeal within the academic community. Launched in response to the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, the EdAccession project focuses on enhancing digital teaching resources and fostering collaboration between universities in Ukraine, Moldova, and the EU. As Ukraine and Moldova prepare for potential EU membership, the project aims to provide essential support to their higher education institutions, facilitating their alignment with EU standards and practices. During the presentation, the project’s objectives and expected outcomes were discussed in detail. A key focus of EdAccession is to initiate an intercultural dialogue with students from Ukraine and Moldova, exploring their expectations, needs, and concerns regarding EU accession and its impact on their university studies.
By gathering student perspectives, the project will compile a structured catalogue of expectations, which will guide the creation of targeted action plans for future cooperation and academic development. ![]() |
